It's hard to reckon with the fact that the atrocities exist right alongside the beautiful and the mundane, and that life keeps going on, through it all. Keep speaking your truth, and feeling your feels, Pam. Sharing grief and sadness with your community is one of the beautiful things.
I feel like the words I have to say are trite anymore. We should not have to live like this. Your words about trying to decide if “open & loud activism” is right or safe or impactful hit so deeply. It’s how I feel every time I get invited to a protest (and politely decline).
How are any of us free if we are afraid to exercise our most valued rights for fear that someone might try to burn us alive, or shoot us, or drive a car into the crowd?
Grieving with you, the entire Jewish community, and for the people who keep missing the nuance in the name of choosing a side.
I’m not sure how to respond to this. But want you to know that I appreciated your vulnerability in this post and that you and the Boulder community are in my thoughts. Take care of yourself. ♥️
So awful but I am glad you are still writing your words and making your art. Sending love ❤️
I feel like this is the most powerful act of resistance. We need more of it.
Thank you!! I think if we stop creating and connecting in the face of pain and grief, then hate and violence have already won.
Could not agree more.
Thank you so much!
