I feel a genuine swelling of joy reading this. YES to your authenticity and you writing about what you're excited about and letting go of all the metaphorical skinny jeans. I admire and adore you.
Yes yes yes! Thank the sweet lord we do not have to be just one thing - i.e. intuitive eating enthusiast - ready to embrace the multitude of you Pam! Keep it coming :)
"I’m not a brand, I’m a woman, which means by definition, I’m ever evolving and I don’t exist to be predictable or on-message or to inhabit a certain persona." LOVE THIS SO MUCH.
I can't wait to read future editions of your reinvented newsletter.
I found this in my Notes feed and really glad I did! I too get worn out trying to be a brand when I’m a person who has always best expressed myself in writing. And that writing might not be a niche, a business or a lead magnet. This is such a great platform to connect with people , and those who like what you have to say will flex with you if you redesign your writing topics to the place where your thoughts and your life are taking you.
Really loved the comment on learning how to write for today’s short attention spans! I had to as well, my degree in journalism was awarded in an era when we still used typewriters and the AP style book. It can be hard to write in a style my professors would have marked up in red until the page bled!
Love this reinvention for you, Pam! I imagine acknowledging it and putting it out into the world feels incredibly freeing.
I realized early on that I couldn’t just write about intuitive eating either—it felt too limiting and honestly boring. The transformation that happened from letting go of diet culture's big grip on me and the continued struggle with body image were much more interesting. But I also write about what's calling to me in the moment.
The beauty of writing for yourself means you get to decide—and pivot when it's no longer calling you.
I am SO here for this reinvention of your newsletter!! We are always evolving!! I cannot wait to keep reading! Getting lost in a book is what’s helping to keep me going! Also new and interesting podcasts, especially ones that focus on the human experience and what connects us!!! Keep on creating Pam!!
Heyyyyy! Thank you so much!!!! Dang it feels good to get this new version of this newsletter out there. Like rearranging the furniture in a room that feels stale AF. What book(s) are you loving right now?
I just found this from your Instagram; I think Intuitive Living is what I need help with. Much like your Intuitive Eating was to help people break free of diet mindset, I need help breaking free of "this is the way you always did things because you are/were a competitive endurance athlete" mindset. I need to connect with people around my age who are driven and will push themselves to their sport even when it probably is no longer serving a purpose. I am discovering a whole new life as a "not quite retired athlete" who still wants to train but lacks direction and wants permission to explore new things.
I hear you. I feel like midlife for so many of us is a natural renegotiation… we’re changing. Our bodies are changing. And it’s okay to want different things than we wanted before. What we value now might be different than what we valued in our 20s and 30s and that is okay! I still want to train and race but when I was younger it was to some extent, fueled by fear- if I don’t do xyz, what if I can’t keep up w my friends? What if I’m actually lazy? What if I gain weight?
Whereas now it’s way more about seeking joy as I’m letting go of the idea of miles logged or hours spent training is a measure of my self worth.
Oooh I love this shift. You are allowed to be more than one thing!
Thank you, Denise!!

Thank you so much, Sally! I'm so glad the algorithm brought us together:) I guess we have to change as both our spirits and the times evolve...
I think many of us are feeling something similar! It's energizing and reassuring to read your words and find you speak my heart as well!
Thank you so much, fellow traveler!
