There is something so surreal about hearing my girls in the other room, deep in their Barbie world - building dream houses out of closet shelves, inventing whole lives out of scraps and imagination. To hear them negotiating storylines and giving their dolls big, complicated futures feels like witnessing a tiny, glittery inheritance being passed down. It’s magic.
